What is ThroneFinder?
ThroneFinder is a free map of porta potties, made by the people who use them. Open the
map, see the thrones near you, and tap one for directions. It runs right in your browser (no app store), and you can add it to your home screen.
What do we call ourselves?
We're Thronees. Thronees drop pins to help each other find a throne. 🚽
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It's free. You can find and drop pins without an account. Businesses can pay for sponsored pins, and that keeps the map free for everyone else.
How do I drop a pin?
On the map, tap the 🚽 button, move the map so the crosshair sits on the unit, and tap Confirm Location. Pick 👍 Throne Worthy or 👎 Dethrone, add a photo if you can, and tap Drop This Pin. It takes about 15 seconds.
What details can I add to a pin?
Tap + Add Details to say how to reach it (Street Side, Behind Fence, Construction Site or Restricted), mark features (Handicap Accessible, Hand Sanitizer, Well Lit), and add notes or a nearby landmark. You can also mark it Standard or Deluxe / Trailer. Features show up as tags like ♿ Accessible, 🧴 Sanitizer and 💡 Well Lit when someone taps the pin.
Why add a photo?
A photo shows the next Thronee exactly what they're walking up to, and which unit it is. Photos are optional, but they help a lot. 📸
How long do pins last?
Pins stay on the map for 14 days after they're dropped, then they drop off. That keeps old ghost units from piling up. The pin color tells you its age: green is under 7 days, orange is 7–14 days. Still there after that? Drop a fresh pin.
What do “Still Here” and “It’s Gone” do?
Tap a pin to open it. If the unit is still there, tap ✅ Still Here. That updates its “last verified” time so others know it’s fresh. If it’s missing, tap ❌ It’s Gone; once 3 people say it’s gone, the pin comes off the map. Not sure? ⚠ Looks gone flags it, and 🚩 Report is for a wrong spot or a unit that doesn’t exist.
Can I filter the map?
Yes. Use the filters to show Accessible only, Verified recently (last 7 days), a kind of spot (Jobsite, Event, Park, Roadside), or how far you want to walk (¼ mi up to 3 mi). Find Near Me and Find Nearest take you straight to the closest thrones.
What are the creatures?
ThroneFinder has collectible creatures that hang out at thrones. When you drop a pin or tap Still Here, you might find one. Some are common, some are rare, and a few legendaries are really hard to catch. The
Creature Finder on the map takes you to your
Collection, which shows every creature: the ones you've caught in full color, the rest as silhouettes with where they spawn, and a tag on the ones nobody has found yet. The
Creatures page has the full list too.
What are Ranks?
Ranks is the leaderboard for Thronees who keep the map fresh. Dropping a pin is worth 2 points and verifying one is worth 1. Creature hunters get their own board:
Hunters.
Can my business advertise?
Yes. On the
Advertise page you can buy a sponsored pin with your business name:
1 day for $5,
a weekend (3 days) for $10,
1 week for $20 or
30 days for $49. There's also a
$99 Wedding Pin for big events. It's a one-time payment through Stripe (no contract, no auto-renew), and your pin goes live within 24 hours.
What do I get with an account?
A free account (email + password) lets you
save pins to your
Saved pins list and
rate and review units.
Sign up or
log in from the top of any page. You never need one just to find or drop a pin.
Does ThroneFinder speak Spanish?
¡Sí! Tap the EN | ES button at the top to switch between English and Spanish. We'll remember your pick.
Who runs this?
ThroneFinder is a small team out of Hampstead, North Carolina.
