What is First Flush?
First Flush is Series 1 of the ThroneFinder trading cards: 36 cards. That’s 14 creatures, 8 Throne locations, 9 slogan/action cards and 5 specials. The two top pulls are both Medusa Muck: #13 “Queen of the Lid” (Chase · Gold Foil) and #14 “Witch’s Brew” (Secret Rare).
One deck plays five games: Five-Minute Flush, Throne Quest (app/QR), Worst Seat in the House (party), Don’t Lift the Lid and Stink-Off. Every card has a QR code on the front. Scan it to open that card’s page on thronefinder.net.
Reading a card
- STINK (1–10): how strong the whiff is. It’s the attack stat in duels, the bust counter in Don’t Lift the Lid, and a flavor stat on Thrones.
- GRIP (1–10): how well it holds on. It’s the claim power in Five-Minute Flush.
- CLAIM (Throne cards only): the Grip needed to claim that Throne.
- RARITY (map pins): Common 1, Rare 2, Holo 3, Chase 5, Secret Rare 5, Special 1. On Thrones, RARITY pins are victory points.
- Ability: the card’s one short rule, in the cream text box.

How to play
All five games play with one Starter Deck. Boosters add variety.
1. Five-Minute Flush
Job-site break game · 2–4 players · about 5 minutes
Grab thrones fast before break’s over.
Setup: Pull out the 8 Throne cards, shuffle them face down (the Throne pile) and flip 3 face up in a row (the Row). Shuffle everything else into the draw pile and deal 4 cards to each player. Whoever most recently used a porta-potty goes first.
On your turn: draw 1 card, then do one thing:
- Claim. Play a creature on a Throne in the Row. You may add one action card that boosts it, such as Unit Inspector (+3). If the creature’s GRIP ≥ the Throne’s CLAIM, take the Throne and put it face up in front of you. The creature goes to the discard pile. Refill the Row from the Throne pile.
- Act. Play one action card and follow its text.
- Swap. Discard up to 2 cards and draw the same number.
Hand limit is 6.
How to win: the first player to 5 pins of Thrones (4 pins with 4 players) wins. If the Thrones run out first, most pins wins. Ties go to whoever has the fewest cards in hand.
2. Throne Quest
ThroneFinder app tie-in · 1+ players (solo, friends, or a whole crew) · one-week “season” (or any length)
Your cards come alive on the real map: scan to unlock creatures, check in at real restrooms to claim Thrones.
Coming soon: the in-app parts of Throne Quest (Creature Finder unlocks, Claims, planting and challenges) aren’t live yet. For now, scanning a card opens its card page.
Setup: Everyone picks 5 creature cards as their Crew and keeps their Throne cards handy. Open ThroneFinder.
Scan to unlock: scanning a card’s front QR for the first time adds that creature to your Creature Finder collection in the app (one badge per card design per account).
Earn Claims: each real check-in at a mapped public restroom earns 1 Claim. A check-in is dropping a new pin, confirming an existing one, or adding a photo of the unit itself.
Plant a Throne: spend a Claim to “plant” one of your Throne cards on that pin. Scan the card’s QR while you’re there, and the pin shows your Throne and your top Crew creature.
Challenge: when another player checks in at a pin you hold, they can challenge. Compare each side’s best Crew creature GRIP. The higher Grip takes the pin, and the defender wins ties. Holo and chase creatures are strong, but a Unit Inspector or Found One! card played at scan time can swing it.
How to win: at season’s end, add up the RARITY pins of Thrones you hold on the map, +1 per Creature Finder badge earned that week and +2 for a Gold Pin card unlocked. The top score earns the in-app Gold Pin for the season.
3. Worst Seat in the House
Party game · 3–8 players · 15–20 minutes
A judge flips a Throne, everyone pitches the most unforgettable pit stop, and the funniest pitch wins.
Setup: Shuffle the Thrones into one pile and everything else into another. Deal 5 of the “everything else” cards to each player. Pick a first Unit Inspector (judge).
Round: the Inspector flips a Throne card (“The Midnight Throne…”). Everyone else picks one creature or slogan card and plays it face down. The Inspector reveals them one by one, and each player gets 10 seconds to pitch why their card makes this the most memorable pit stop ever (“…and Sewer Pickle is already in there, humming show tunes.”). The Inspector picks a winner, who keeps the Throne card. Everyone draws back to 5, and the judge role passes left.
Rule of the house: clever beats gross. Gross-out pitches can’t win.
How to win: the first to collect 3 Throne cards wins (5 for a longer game).
4. Don’t Lift the Lid
Push-your-luck · 2–6 players · about 10 minutes
Keep flipping for pins, but if Medusa shows up or the stink gets too strong, you lose it all.
Setup: shuffle the whole deck face down.
On your turn: flip cards one at a time into your line. After each flip, choose to stop (bank every card in the line into your score pile) or keep flipping.
- Bust if the line’s total STINK reaches 15 or more (action cards count 0), or if a Medusa Muck card is flipped anywhere but first. Busted lines go to the discard pile.
- Medusa first? If Medusa is the first card of your line, “You found her!” Bank it right away for +5 bonus pins.
- Flush Happens in your line removes the highest-Stink card from it.
- Before It’s Too Late banks your line immediately with +1 pin.
How to win: when the deck runs out, add the RARITY pins in your score pile. Most pins wins.
5. Stink-Off
2-player stat duel · 2 players · 5–10 minutes
Flip, call a stat, and the higher number takes both cards.
Setup: shuffle, split the deck evenly and keep your half face down.
Turn: both players flip their top card. The active player calls STINK, GRIP or RARITY (on Thrones, CLAIM counts as Grip). Higher number takes both cards to the bottom of their pile. On a tie, flip again, and the winner takes everything. An action card is wild: whoever flips it gets to call the stat, and it counts as 5. The winner of each flip calls next.
How to win: take every card, or have the most cards when a 5-minute timer runs out.
